A while back I wrote about how I spilled iced coffee on my MacBook Pro and it surved. Well, a month or so later, the keyboard and trackpad died. Foregoing the somewhat tedious Apple repair process and paying upwards of $400 for parts & labor, I got a hold of a new topcase and replaced it myself for $70. Everything’s just dandy.

I’m convinced that coffee in paper cups is gross. There’s something about the paper that ruins the taste of a freshly brewed cup of iced coffee. Do yourself a favor - use plastic and save trees while you’re at it.

Google’s new favicon gives the company a more casual and cartoonish appearance. I like it. I don’t love it. I wonder how many design iterations it took, and how many candidates were in the final round. It’s only a 16x16 pixel update, but it does get a lot of visibility.
